What are the differences between the Gen I and Gen II CANsmart devices?
The main difference between the two devices are the output circuits. The Gen II devices offers 4x 10A outputs instead of the 2x 10A and 2x 4A on the Gen I, this allows for great configuration flexibility as opposed to the preset configurations for Gen I devices.
The other huge change is support for two sets of individually operated lights. This allows users to change the intensity of each pair lights individually, or even turn a pair off or on while on the move.
Some smaller but relevant changes as well:
- Support for turn signals
- Support for heated gear
- Support for run/brake/turn channels
- Support for 3-wire accessories like the Innovv K2 Dashcam
